CELTIC, Britain. Dobunni. Corio, circa 30-15 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 5.47 g, 8 h). Stylized tree with pellet at base. Rev. COR[IO] Celticized horse to right; above, crescent and two pellet-in-annulets; below, wheel; behind, three pellets. ABC 2048. Van Arsdell 1035. Rare. A lovely and unusually well struck and fresh piece. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, extremely fine.
